UK Talk Talk Hack Could Cost Company £35m

The scale cyber attack itself is not in itself new. This year has seen a lot of high profile hacks known companies and government agencies, with perhaps the best known is that of Ashley Madison hacking in early summer. But it's not just companies that have had to deal with cyber criminals. The US government directly involved China for piracy successfully in the files of government agencies.

The most interesting of the Talk Talk hack, is honesty and openness with which Harding has spoken about the event. When the hack was first reported, Talk Talk admitted they were "initially uncertain as to the extent of the court ..." The company also admitted that it was still too early to measure the impact on customers, but still had seen a spike in customer defections as a result of the news.

Harding has received positive reviews for being so open about the extent of cutting, because it has:

Harding seemed more concerned about the financial numbers on her alarm and stress the hack caused to its customers.

Harding financial implications revealed the hack had on the finances of companies.

In an interview with the BBC, Harding said:

Arrests and other hacks

The kicker was the second time this year that Talk Talk had violated their safety online. An attack in February Talk Talk systems did not allow fraudsters to steal money. Of greater concern was that not all customer data of Talk Talk is not encrypted. This has now been rectified.

British police have arrested four people in connection with the cyberattack. The oldest was only 20 years old, while the other two were 16 years old. The youngest was only 15.
